I took home pregnancy today but it was negative

If you are indeed pregnant it would be way too early for you to tell yet.  When it comes to testing you need to wait about 3 - 4 weeks after to test.  You did test at the right time of day depending on where you are located - the morning is best with the first pee of the day which gives you the most accurate result.

Are you two trying to conceive?

Hey, no problem, just didn't want you to go out every week and waste your money on a test. Not until it's time and unfortunately where babies come from as you are learning already, you need patience.
