i want to start my period?
i am in year 8 at school and am quite a clever girl.
Lots of other people in my year have started and even people in the year below have started. i feel intimidated and immature because i have not started.
i have tried finguring myself but it makes me feel ill.
i regret fingering myself; i hate it; will this affect my period or give me problems in the future?
what can i do if anything?! :?

Year eight is about average to start your period, although it's also normal to start later. In fact, scientists are now worried that some girls and boys are starting puberty too young, including girls getting their periods too young. I wouldn't worry. I know you may feel that you're not "along with" the other girls, but it's still normal for you not to have your period.
Fingering should not affect your period. Fingering, if anything, would mimic sex and healthy sex does not affect the period. It's normal to have sex and it's normal to have a period. The body will treat both as such.
Fingering should also not give you problems in the future. It's best that your hands are clean when you do so to avoid bacteria and fungus, since the hands can be the dirtiest parts of your body. However, even if your hands were quite dirty and you got some sort of infection, it shouldn't cause any long-term problems.

I have 3 girls, they all started between the ages of 11 and 13.
Me on the other hand, didn't start my period until i was 15. o.O
Don't let this bother you at all.
Ya know, once you get it, and i know you are anxious to get it, your gonna have it for a long time.
There will be so many times thru out your life that you will wish you didn't have it. >:(
As far as masterbation. That will not help at all. One has nothing to do with the other.
So, relax and enjoy your period free life for now. No one has to know that you have it or not.
One day you will wake up and there it will be. :-|
