I was taking 15 pills of tramadol everyday when I got pregnant. I was able to taper down to a few pills each day. The withdrawals were mostly feeling so tired that I could barely get out of bed. I continued to use through out my pregnancy and my child was fine. Honestly, try as hard as you can to taper down, you will feel like c**p for about a week or two but it's worth the pain for the sake of your baby.

This site saved me during my pregnancy. I know its an oldtopic but I promised myself I would hopefully put more minds at ease. I was able to cut back from8 pills to 2. I was in my 38th week and I cut down to half a pill. I had my daughter a few days shy of my 39th week. She is healthy and happy. A very calm beautiful baby. I will continue to post givi.g updates on her developement. I slowly cut down at the end so I felt no withdrawls. It can be done. Good luck to everyone.

Just thought I would update my situation. After being on the tram for a year, I was able to wean from 4 pills to 3, to 1 1/2 to zero in a few days. I did it a little fast only because I was having the withdrawal symptoms taking 1 1/2 a day, so I just decided to bite the bullet and stop totally. I'll be honest, it was solid week of HELL. It got a touch better every day, but I didn't start sleeping thru the night and had the restless body for a solid 7-10 days. It's been over a month now of no pills, and I can't tell you how relieved I am. I didn't think I'd ever sleep well without a sleep aid of some sort, but I'm sleeping better than I ever have. I'm now almost 9 weeks and I know how heavily taking the pills can weigh on you while pregnant. Wean as much as you can and just know it is possible to stop if you want to. I can't tell you the weight that was lifted off my shoulders when I started feeling like a human again. Do what you can and good luck... it was the worst week of my life but gave me the greatest reward. :-D

Ladies, Ladies. I have been where you are. Getting off is not as bad as we all( yes myself included) thought it was going to be. Here what u do. You have to find your own system of weaning off. This worked for me. I get 90 a month. That usually lasts me about 2 weeks. I take 5-6 a day for about 14 days. I save the last 10 - 15 pills for MY weaning off system that works for me.When Im down to the last ten pills, For the next three days or four days.. I.take one whole pill for the whole day. I've learned that your body will be fine no matter how many your used to taking as long as you have some of the drug in your system so one pill per 24 hr period is fine. Take the pill before the 24 hr period expires cause thats when you go into withdral mode. So if you took it at 7pm, take the next one by that time the following day for 3-4 days. Then take half a pill for the next few days again every 24 hrs and again not letting yourself go more than 24 with nothing. Then after 3-4 days of taking half a pill per day, wait until you feel your very first withdraw symptom come on. As soon as you feel the first withdraw.. take half a pill. Yes even half will relieve you from withdraws. Your giving your body what it ---NEEDS--- and even in the smallest dose, it will make the symtoms go away for a while. Wait until your next withdraw symtom and again take a half a pill. Continue to do this half a pill regimin. The withdraws will get less intense and the stretch between will last longer and longer until you no longer need the pills at all. It works. Maybe your number on the pills portion varys depending on the specific doses you give your body per day but the key is less over longer periods of time but this works. Remember, as long as your giving your body what it needs (even in the smallest dose) will take the agony of full blown withdraws away. I do this evwerymonth to keep me from feeling the withdraws until i can get my next supply the following month. I am now pregnant and I stopped taking Tramodol overall. But if not for " my system" i wouldnt have been able to get off at all. My advise, once you mamnge to get off especially all of us knowing how much withdraWS HURT...dont go back...EVER.RED

My daughter is now 8 wks and smiling and laughing, not much more to report but any info to keep your minds at ease..i did only take 2 a day and I did eventually get down to nothing a week before my delivery. You just have to keep lowering your dose by half and then a quarter, as long as you have a little in your system you will not withdrawl..i will keep updating

for you woman that are scared about losing your child due to withdraws from tramadol, it's possible but very slim chance, I quit cold turkey shooting oxycoton and roxies and heroin when I found out i was pregnant at 10 weeks (over 2 years ago)... i suffered almost 5 months of withdraws and it was the worst experience i have ever been through and would not wish that on anyone, tramadol will give you the same symptoms when quitting... it will be rough but in the end will be worth it, seeing a newborn baby suffer from withdraws is horrible and i personally would go through all of that over again to make sure my baby doesn’t feel the side effects of withdraws. Just bumping their crib can cause them hours of discomfort and pain. Just remember if I can go through withdraws from shooting heroin at 10weeks pregnant than you have a pretty good chance of being okay with kicking tramadol… its very scary I know, I had ALL the horrible withdraw symptoms and couldn’t even keep water down, at times I thought I was going to die… but after the first week it gets a little easier just take one day at a time and remember this is only temporary… good luck hope this helps.
