Originally it felt like i had an ulcer or cut Somewhere around where around the join of my tongue and the join to my mouth, slightly beyond the back of the teeth.

I don't gag generally so a while back i noticed lumps on the back of my throat, but reading another post re-assured me that these were simply a type of taste-bud.

This pain can be triggered when i move my tongue around and comes generally from the area of these bumps.

Its a rather sharp pain, but i've started to notice it shoots into my ear.

The only confusion is that it can hurt to move my tongue too, which i've never noticed before in a saw throat.

Is one of these glands inflamed etc?

I apologize if this has been posted before/something similar, i am just looking for re-assurance mostly.

I admit i am a smoker which has heightened my tendency to worry about small problems, mountains out of mole-hills etc, but quitting is on the very near horizon. Which is a kind of :-D o.O %-) situation.
