My grandson is 3 and just today has mom mentioned how when he says aaahhh and sticks his tongue way out this thing pops up in the back of his throat. It resembles a birds tongue if you will. She noticed it when he was laughing hard and had his head thrown back. Anyone seen this before?

I just discovered the same thing on my daughter and freaked out, lol. I researched and found out that it is called an Epiglottis, and it's normal. Some are more visible than others...google it. Hope this helps!
