Hi, I would like you to answer me a question about my father. He is 76 years old and he has been having problem with his lungs. Actually, he has been diagnosed with the hypersensitive pneumonitis and I would like to know if that is the same thing as farmer lungs. He does live on a farm for more than 30 years now.

Well, in that case, we might say that there is a similarity between those two. Farmer lungs usually need time for developing we are talking about decades. This condition happens because of the exposure to the all sorts of plants and weeds and grass and might be referred to as some sort of long term allergic reaction. Still, it is pneumonitis and should be dealt with accordingly.
