im 16 and been thinking of getting a penis exam to see if im ok. but there is something that is bothering me. im wondering if its ok to have an erection during the check up and also if you can chose the gender of the person weather male of female cause i don't want no man touching my penis.

Normally the genitalia is checked during a physical exam. Yes, it is OK to get an erection, it's normal. You may/may not have a choice of doctor, it depends on the facility.
Most urologists, which specialize in the the male reproductive system, are male.
At 16 you probably thinks it's "gay" to have a man touch your penis for any reason. The doctor is ONLY doing what is required, it is not sexual to him. He's not going to whip out his to show you. Wait until you have a prostate exam.
