26 year old female from Pennsylvania here....

Somebody please help me. I am a regular marijuana smoker I have been smoking at least 2x daily for the past 6 years.

Recently my dealer has come to a stand still and there hasn't been any weed around for the past 2 weeks....

Ever since I haven't had any I have been experiencing extremely painful bouts of diarrhea. At least 5 times a day, sometimes more and I have tried immodium and bentyl to no avail.

My main question is, is this diarrhea some sort of symptom of marijuana withdrawal?

OR.....

is it possible that my previous marijuana use has "covered up" an underlying condition? I know it can be used medically for a variety of ailments... I don't want to become dependent on marijuana to have normal stools. it just doesn't seem right.

any ideas? I am at a loss here :(

I know this is an old post but I'm here so answering just in case someone else comes along this down the line.

It's very possible it could be either of those options. Diarrhea isn't an extremely common symptom of weed withdrawals but it isn't unheard of either. The small intestine is full of cannabinoid receptors and sudden changes can cause spasms and other issues which lead to diarrhea.

With that, if it doesn't start improving (stage reduction) in a week, or you have other symptoms pointing towards an infection. See your doctor to verify there isn't an underlying condition.
