China White is Fentanyl. And you don't get high on Methadone. I agree shooting Methadone is a stupid thing but for a completely different reason it is just a waste. Have a cab company on speed dial not 911 you'll have to go and buy some from the guy upstairs in the alley. Blockage doses of Suboxone if you are on Methadone or dose. Get your facts strait.

Wow, great info. I take methadose to control my pain. I've taken 30mg a day. It helps a lot. You can't replace experience with a book. Again, great information.

I was taking 100mg of methadose. My doctor cut me to 30mg - 10 mg 3 times a day. Will this keep me pain free? I broke my back and have nerve damage. I will not agree to surgery.

Methadone  has long been used as a treatment for certain pain.  Methadone is long lasting and has been used successfully in pain management.

It's more known in opiate addiction treatment.

The half life of Methadone is longer than most other pain medications, making it a great choice in certain diagnosis.  Not everyone with chronic pain will get prescribed this,  your doctor obviously sees your situation suited to Methadone.  You won't find a better pain reliever.

A word of caution,  since you mentioned addicts and were very clear to distinguish yourself from that group.

Historically it is those prescribed pain medication from a doctor,  legally using their pills who become addicted to opiates. The facts were evident even before the USA News channels televised the pharmaceutical companies lying to everyone about the addictive nature of their products.  In recent times,  addicts aren't made on the streets,  they were made in doctors offices,  with a patient looking for relief for pain.

My warning to you is because you will find yourself either ceasing needing your medication,  or still needing it due to chronic pain. You may also no longer need them for physical pain, and you may still take them.

Addicts aren't weak. They started like everyone else.

You don't need to be concerned as long as you follow orders to decrease your dose if no longer needed.

If your doctor doesn't have a taper plan, Insist he give you one. Educate yourself on tapering off.

The reason addicts are given Methadone,  is that it keeps withdrawal from occurring, doesn't provide a high similar to drugs of abuse,  and it also has a blocking effect with other opiates. The patient won't feel the effects much of they use. This has a therapeutic effect for some.

It's also easy and simple to lower the dose for those who want to reduce or cease completely.

The long half life ensures that a missed dose for one day will not result in major withdrawal,  since much of the drug stays unmetabolized for 24 hours.

In my opinion,  try to catch yourself judging certain groups. If I was given a medication that is Also given to Diabetics... would I wonder why , if I AM NOT A DIABETIC..I would be given that medication?

Addicts and diabetics can both have Blame of  bad personal choices resulting in their situations.

Yet, addicts are seen harshly.  Seeing as ( previously mentioned) addiction treatment is sought mostly by previous pain patients,  legally getting drugs...I am amazed that a shift in judging hasn't happened much yet.

Hope I answered your questions and maybe gave some good unsolicited opinions as well!
