Hello, guys. I would like to ask something. We all have heard about mad cow disease. I know that it can be transmitted from cattle to human. I would like to know if prions can spread from animal to animal. What do you think about this? I would really appreciate this. Thanks.

Hello. Mad cow disease is indeed caused by prions. These particles are in fact proteins. Those are abnormal proteins. It is interesting that they are even simpler than viruses, but it seems that they give more headaches. Humans usually get infected when consuming infected meat. I think that prions can spread between animals. However, I am not sure about pathway that they use for transmission. I hope someone will give the answer. Bye!
