ive got a hard lump on the first joint of my first finger which gets stiff and sore,i work in a petrol station and the cash register is a touch screen, i always use my first finger which i have been doing for 5 years now it also stings after a while and i have to use another finger on the register,could it be somethink to do with me useing the same finger on the cash register,

Could be. I used to work in a lawn mower factory where i had to slice open plastic boxes useing my same finger all the time. Eventually, i built up such a callous that it became very painful. I had to wrap tape around my finger to work as not to start up the pain again.
Or..I developed a bump on my middle finger, on the side, right where it creases at the first joint. It was akward because opening a cupboard, writing or just doing ordinary things would start it to hurting. I would always bang it on things. I went to the Doctor and he took it out. It was a non cancerous cyst. When he cut it out and showed me, it look like a chi chi bean.
Or.. you could be developing some arthritis in your finger joint. Again, i have that in my pinky finger, left hand. It will hurt on occasion and if i push on it, it hurts as well. You can see the raised bump right on the joint itself. It gets a little bigger sometimes, depending on how much i am using that finger.
