Hi,
I'm 22 weeks pregnant and from the first month of my pregnancy I have started having shortness of breath. Then over 2 months ago my voice went really funny. Now, I have serious issues talking. I can't get words out and when I do it's raspy and very quiet.
I've been to an ENT doc and been diagnosed with reflux laryngitis, which he is saying is caused by my pregnancy. Funny thing is I was not sick once.....
I really feel that the issue is caused more by the shortness of breath. At times I feel like I simply don't have the lung capacity to talk.
Is this normal?

When you went to the doctor, did you happen to mention to him that you had shortness of breath? I mean, if you are really concerned about it and you're sure that they're related, maybe you should see another doctor about it and get a second opinion. In my mind, it makes sense that your shortness of breath and reflux are related because the pressure from the stomach would press up on your esophagus and lower lungs. Had you considered that? Does your baby rest high? Keep us posted.
