Same here. I've had I for approximately 4 days and it's painful to walk, sit, pee, and wear panties. My doctor put a numbing cream on there and true to pop it but nothing is working.

I suffer from the same issue-I also have PCOS and I generally find people are clueless on the affects it has on our bodies. I believe it's all hormone related. Hang in there too!

This definitely sounds like an abscess . Follow the doctor's order. If it has to be sliced open, only let the doctor do it. You could cause more damage down there.

I have PCOS and get these monthly. Some small and go away or drain on their own. Right now I have one the size of a golf ball and about as hard as one, tried the usual remedies. If not gone by tomorrow going to ER to have lanced. I believe those of us with PCOS, it's related to that somehow

Hi Darcie Fiske,
My partner is going through the same as you did and she has trouble walking.
She gets in a lot of unbearable pain and can't get it to burst,
My partner knows how it feels and what you are going through.

Incorrect, you must have the abscess drained by a trained professional. That is infection and due to your shaving it makes it easier to get them. If you try to do it yourself you will be in too much pain to get it all out. Thereafter you must have it drained and packed. Please seek immediately Medical attention, before you turn septic.
Good Luck,
Candace

I had the same problem. Obgyn said it's from shaving myself bare down there and caused an ingrown hair. She cut and removed the abscess and it feels much better!

Hello! I have had this same thing twice now and finally it's most of the way healed. Mine was some of the worst they've seen and it was incredibly painful as you all know. However, I had to be hospitalized for 5 days because it was just not getting better and there was so much inflammation and pain. I had one 2 months before this and it went away no problem after the ER doctor drained it with a needle and put me on antibiotics. It came back and this time they tried to do the same but it didn't get better at all so they put me completely under and cut it open and stitched in a catheter that was taken out almost 2 weeks ago. I have so scarring unfortunately and my labia looks a little lopsided :( but I'd rather have that than another one! My GYNO said they are seeing a lot of these infections more recently and it's due to SHAVING. It may not be ingrown hairs but more folliculitis that ends up getting pretty bad due to the sensitive area. They said it should not come back but to minimize this chance even more, they said no more shaving! I'll probably end up getting waxed instead or just laser it off. Hope this helps and maybe reduce the number of these you guys get. I feel your pain!

Hi girls, I searched for this thread again to write this post so that it might help a few of you. I had an abscess on my right labium majos a few days ago (for the second time in a few months). I was horrified to go to the doctor again and get it drained. The doctor did not give me any reason for why this was happening or how it could be avoided. I knew exactly what she'd do. She will numb the area with an injection and slit it open. So i searched online and decided to try out some home remedies before I go to the doctor this time. I worked from home for 2 days and did warm compression on affected area for 10-15 mins every few hours.. i also bought epsom salt and put it in my bath tub with warm water (called sitz bath if you want to research more) and sat in it for 15 mins. It slowly started to get smaller and on the 4th day, it started draining on it's own. It's been draining for a few days now, and the pain has almost disappeared.

I have been there, experienced the unbearable pain (twice) and i really hope this helps somebody!!

I wrote the above post about the home remedy and how it healed on it's own. Just to let you know, I know it might sound gross to some of you, I have NEVER shaved down there. Not just shaved, never done anything with the hair. Instead of this, I have had the abscess 2 freaking times in a few months. The doctor had no clue why that would happen, so if anybody has any idea about why this happens, please let me know so that I can avoid this from happening again.

Hi Michelle, I have been going through the same thing for the last eight weeks. It started out being the size of a grape, then grew tot he size of an egg then the size of two eggs. I had mine lanced at the hospital the first part of June and it keeps coming back. The only thing that kept it draining was putting tea tree oil in the bath, For the last two days I have been pouring hydrogen peroxide on it, twice a day, and so far this is the only thing that has worked to reduce the size and pain. The prescriptions didn't seem to help me at all and i'm hoping there will be no more trips to the hospital.

I was just in the ER yesterday with this and they had to literally put me under to lance it. The needle in that area had me screaming bloody murder and was one of the worst pains I had ever felt. I'm going to the Gyn tomorrow for a follow up to see if it's draining well ( not sure it is since the lump is still there and I don't sense any fluid draining). The ER doctor was surprised it had so much blood. If it turns out it needs to be further lanced, they will have to schedule me for outpatient surgery. I can't do this again!
PS I don't shave down there either. Dr said it doesn't matter and very common in women.

I can sympathize with you. The absolute worst pain I ever experienced. It was a month from hell and I lost 10 pounds from having so much pain and anxiety. I have been one week using the hydrogen peroxide and the lump finally went to nothing today, If I only knew from the start something so cheap could give me so much relief.
