I am a 39 year old female. Last June, I fainted due to low hemoglobin and low blood sugar issues. When I fainted I suffered a Lisfranc injury. In my left foot, I fractured my 1st and 4th tarsometatarsal and crushed the 2nd and 3rd. I had ORIF repair. A fusion was done to repair the crush injury. I had permanent hardware placed which consisted of 2 plates, 4 screws and a pin. My concern at this point is pain. How long does it take to be pain-free? Will I ever be pain-free? My doctor said that it was a bad injury and will probably not get full function back. For example, due to the fusion I have limited movement especially trying to curl my toes. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful I can walk, I just have pain. I did physical therapy and I use inserts in my shoes, but it just seems to me that there should be relief soon. Any answers or suggestions? Please help!
