Thank you very much for the information as my dad also suffers from the same problem. The only thing he must do now to have a lot of determination to carry on with life and take a lot of  "prayer pills" (read the LORD'S WORDS) and have faith in HIM. He the world's best doctor as he has healed many and have given them time to live longer. ALWAYS PRAISE THE LORD. This miracle has helped may of my family members especially my DAD.

I had the middle lobe of the right lung removed when I was an infant and the right side of my diaphragm is paralyzed after having tuberculosis.  I obviously don't remember what the recovery was like but I live a very normal and full life.  I am 36 years old and have been blessed with three beautiful children.  I played the flute in marching band, learned to love running, and try exercising regularly (I only say try because I tend to be on the lazy side and skip out frequently in order to read a good book).  I am a pretty healthy person and rarely get sick with anything more than a cold or minor stomach virus.  Sometimes, I think I tire out a little more easily than others and have muscle spasms in my chest but those seem to be the only things I notice.

I had my left lung removed due to cancer 2yrs ago. I am completely normal in almost every way. uphill gets me out of breath. however I work out every day in the gym lifting weights. I do get out of breath and the recover time to catch it before the next reps takes longer. but other then that I move about quickly. if we hung out you would never know I only had one lung. to all you---- please eat right, get good sleep, exercise and love your family and friends :)

Good luck

There is a gentleman call John Fahey, an Australian, who is the Chairman of the World Antidoping Agency (look up wada-ama.org). That's the body that regulates doping in athletes. Anyway John had lung cancer in the early 90s and had one of his lungs removed. Complete recovery and able to participate in life at the highest level.

hello wendy:

Good to hear from you. I had my complete right side lung removed four years ago. Where to start? It slows me down, but some people have only half of one lung removed. They get more air, so they go longer. By the end of the day I am tired doing only minimal exercises during each day. I walk up a slight, about fifteen degree incline each day both ways. Good luck wendy.

Dear approaching lung removal.  I had complete right lung removed four years ago.  Doctors kept me in hospital for two years.  I thought maybe I would find a pen pal type with one lung on SteadyHealth,  perhaps you're it.   Good luck what ever happens.  SteadyHealth has been good for me to identify with others in the same boat.   Gave my sterile feeling a personal touch.  Others are like me.  I forgot the name I was using here.  Perhaps it is ROPLung or Ropey.   I'm surviving but unable to work.  Getting used to low oxygen level.  I tire easy early night.  I'm very fortunate to have support.  Do write anytime.  God be with you.   Whatever my name is. Bye.

I have one lung due to TB. At the age of 6 my left lung had to be removed, I'm 50 years old now and living a normal life. Every now & then when in the presence of smoke or large amounts of dust I get wheezy and need to use a ventolin inhaler. The use of the inhaler is due to having slight touch of asthma, but i have never had an asthma attack.
