Hi. In eighties, Love canal near the Niagara Falls was used as a toxic waste disposal site. Those people have been exposed to garbage, radiation ,and other stuff. You know what came along. Many of those people were dying of cancer. Now when that is all over, will those families – and their future generations have problems because of it?

I know the story about Love canal. Afterwards, they got 129 million dollars. Well radiation exposal is a nasty thing. If you look at the health issues, than nobody who wasn't exposed to it will have any problems (future generations), but radiation causes degradation in the genome, so it is possible that future babies might be born with inborn health problems.

I care for a patient whose grandfather was exposed to love canal radiation. He and several of his cousins have neurodegenerative disorders that include severe developmental delays and seizures. The cause is an x-linked gene that was thought to be mutated by their grandfather's radiation exposure and passed on to these unfortunate later generations.
