My period started at the beginning of January and was heavier than normal.
About 4 days ago I started having some blood and mucus spotting. Today I began having alot of pain on just the left side down really low, like by my left ovary. I have been feeling very tired & under the weather since the spotting started 4 days ago. I have the copper IUD- Paraguard, but it was put in back in July last year, (2007) according to the website for Paraguad its normal to spot for up to 3 months.
This is the first time I have ever spotted in my life. All my menstrual cycles have been very normal with little to no cramping & no PMS.
I have only had 1 partner my whole life- my husband & I have no STDs. However I am beginning to think I may have gotten an infection that has progressed into something more. I have just finished the taper down of prednisone- which was used to suppress my immune system ( I have ulcerative colitis & the prednisone was used to stop my immune system from attacking my colon). My UC has been healed for about 2 weeks now. However I think that since the prednisone shut down my immune system, that I may have gotten a bad infection that just went wild- being that my immune system is turned off. Any ideas or people with similar experience.
