Hi,
I'm experiencing lower right abdominal pain and cramps (like menstrual)
and have been to the doctor already, but he seems to think it is diverticulitis. Isn't that on the left side though? It feels like I have a golf ball in my lower belly, and I also present blood in my stools sometimes. I have also removed my appendix some 20 years ago.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.

Hi, yes you are right. Diverticulosis is most commonly on the left side but it doesn't have to mean 100%. Other symptoms you described do sound like diverticulosis including cramping, and bleeding from the rectum.
Bleeding from the rectum almost always indicates some kind of bleeding within GI tract. Have they ordered other tests to determine exactly what it is like barium enema or sigmoidoscopy?

What about an ovarian cyst?
Maybe you guys can help me with my problem? I have pain in my lower abdomen (near my right hip bone), sometimes it's dull and achy, sometimes it's a burning pain and sometimes it's a sharp pain. Recently the pain radiates to my side and my lower back (right hip area too). It hurts when I put pressure on the spot by my hip bone and when I lay on my stomache, I also feel full easier and have a lack of appetite, I'm so tired all the time, I have to go to the bathroom more often and when my bladder is full the pain is worse but it doesn't hurt to pee. I have had an ultrasound to rule out a Cyst on my ovaries and a pee test to rule out a UTI and regular and ectopic pregnancy. I'm not sure what else it could be. I don't have any STI's either, I've been tested for those too.
