I am a boimechanical therapist (specializing in the way the body moves and functions) I have actually seen this problem many timees in our clinic. It is possible that you have very tight hipflexor muscles, specifically Ilio-psoas and rectus femorus. They both attatch in that general area. You also mentioned that you drive for long hours....sitting causes these muscles to tighten even more. You may want to talk to your doctor about finding either a phyisical therapist or a biomechanical therapist in your area. Of course, you may have something more serious, so you always want to talk to your doctor to rule out any other possiblities. Muscle is usually the cause of most problems though. I would seek other alternitives before surgery. Maybe even getting some regualar massages as long as it isn't contraindicated. Hope this helps.
