I don't know how it arrived there but what I remember there were hard veins and after a day or two I got a soft pea sized lump which gradually became harder.Initialy I didn't care it.I thought it will vanish on its own.But as the days passed it didn't show any sign of vanishing.
I got horrified then.Four months passed. It took my sleep away. While searching I landed in this forum and after many analysis I thought best thing is to visit an urologist though I was very shy in nature.I rushed to one and after diagnosis he told it is nothing but a deposition of fibrous tissue and it will go away automatically. He prescribed some medicine.
Iaccepted him but NO,IT DIDN'T GO AWAY ON ITS OWN.That was the time when the real horror striked me.Then I started applying mild pressure on it with my finger.I increased pressure on it.Initially it disbursed but gradually gone.BAMB!! I am free of that weired thing.Wish you a good luck if you are suffering this. The first thing you should remember is "Don't havoc and don't get terrified".That was the mistake I had done.

Only seems to pop up towards the end of/after an especially vigorous session, so I'm guessing its just related to going a bit harder than you should.

This is a hard swelling that suddenly appears on the shaft of the penis after sex or masturbation. It happens when the lymph channels in your penis are temporarily blocked. Lymph is a clear fluid that forms part of the body’s immune system. The swelling should soon subside and will not cause any permanent problems.

I believe I have the solution for you.
I experienced something similar. There are 2 possibilities :
a) It's a non harmful CYST - Hard, ball-like in nature, and appears to be able to move around under the skin. Cause is uncertain, but probably due to skin damage when masturbating.
b) It's MOLUSCUM - Red in colour usually, multiple bumps, with a crater-like dented surface at the top. This is a sexually transmitted disease.
What to do if it's a CYST
*****************************
If its CYST (which is what I had and the cyst did not go away even after 3 to 5 months), just go to a skin specialist and have him remove the ball-like bump using a "Punch Extractor". The skin specialist will first inject an aenesthetic into the bump and extract the ball-like lump using a device called a "Punch Extractor" (sounds painful, but you won't feel a thing because of the aenesthetic). This "Punch Extractor" is shaped like a pen and easily extracts the ball-like bump within a minute. Once the cyst is removed, the doctor will stitch up the skin. Quite painless and fast (it took only 10 minutes to finish the whole procedure). After that, you'll be as good as new.
Afterward, I took a long look at the extracted Cyst. It was hard, light-yellow in colour and could not even be squeezed flat. It also looked like a little seed. It was only then did I realiz there was no other way to get it removed, except to extract it at a skin specialist.
What to do if it's MOLUSCUM
***********************************
If it's MOLUSCUM, go to any doctor and ask him to spray liquid nitrogen on it. This will take a few sessions. Frequency is estimated to be 1 spray session per week.
