Hi: I have a very painful lump on my upper back right on the spine. It hurts to bend over, it hurts when I put my bra on. It is CONSTANTLY throbbing!!!!! It is definitely a boney thing. Does anyone know what it is? I really don't want to go to the doctor as I am very worried due to wear it is - right between my shoulderblades by the way. Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou

I am wondering if this could be a pressure sore caused by a very tight bra. If so, going bra-less can speed up the healing. Wearing a T shirt underneath your blouse will make you look decent.

Aurora I understand not going to the doctor because you are worried, but think about it. If this is a serious issue and you don't go to a doctor, it could end up getting worse and you could be even more sick or in pain and you'll have to go to the emergency room instead of the doctor anyway, so you might as well go now and save yourself the trouble! It could turn out to be nothing, and indeed it's more likely that it is nothing. Does that make sense? PLease let me know how you're doing.

Thankyou! I have a bone disorder and have a couple of "boney protussions" on my body, one is at the base of my spine. BUT this one makes me nervous of where it is. I just wanted to know if anyone actually has had anything like this. My mother died of bone cancer so I am sure you understand my worry. It is definitely a bone thing as my husband and massage therapist can feel it. Thankyou for the support, I just wanted to know if anyone knew about this further. I know I have to go to the doctor, but not looking forward to it you know?!

aurora of COURSE. I know that people hate going to the doctor. If everyone liked going to the doctor then these forums wouldn't even exist! If you have bone cancer or something like that then you'll be ready for it because you clearly know your body and you'll be able to tell. I hope that you keep us posted on what the doctor says. Hi Bluedog: Sorry I havent written in awhile! So I went to a doctor and he sent me for a full spine xray! So fingers crossed for me OK! I am really worried that it is bad, but at least I went heh!
