I am a female health care worker working in a nursing home and it is true many patients of all ages who reside in the homes still have sexual needs and desires. I can only comment from personal experience from the homes i have worked in. It is generally not talked about publically or talked about but where a patient, both male and female, has the need and the physical capability to masturbate, they are given the opportunity to do so if they wish sometimes alone and sometimes with some supervision. For thise male and female patients, again of all ages, who have the need but are unable to do it for themselves for whatever reason, then in my experience, assistance is given if that is what they want. The health benefits of masturbation, assisted or not, weighed up against the frustrations etc of not getting a sexual release give the obvious reasons why this occurs. Thank you very much for your reply. I'm pleased to hear that it's recognized and cared for at least in some places. I vividly remember the teenaged girl as she was in a well publicized car accident.
