Hi, my kid is 16 years old and it seems that he is having some allergic problems. We haven’t done any allergen tests yet, but I am almost certain that he has hay fever and maybe some other allergy too. I just hope that it will not worsen, that it will stay in a mild form as it is now. Anyway, may I prevent his allergic reactions with steroid medicines?

You can, but let’s wait for those examinations and allergen tests. Perhaps this is nothing chronic, only an acute episode. If it really is some allergy, then corticosteroids really might help in preventing the eventual allergic attacks. But I guess the type of medication will also be determined by a doctor.
