My husband had what can only be described as a stroke on 11/4. He has had all the appropriate tests all negative (CAT, MRI, MRA, ultrasound of carotids, lungs, bubble test, blood tests, EKG) The neurologist has told us that there is no medical evidence of a stroke, but yet his left arm and leg still are somewhat numb and weak and he gets winded when he tries to walk or exert. The neurologist is not going to order any more tests and has allowed him to continue physical therapy, but says that he has no idea what is wrong. He mentioned that sometimes people have mental issues that represent themselves with physical symptoms. I did some research on the internet and came up with conversion reaction. Could this really be what is happeneing to my husband? I discussed this possiblity with him and he said that he doesn't feel "mental" or anything. Can you shed some light on this? Can there be some disease that they haven't looked for?
