How do you test phrenic nerve? My husband is75...Had a stroke 3 yrs ago and was given TPA which was successful.Since stroke he has weakness on left side, breathing issues, no appetite and living on Boost.He gets hiccups that last for 7 days and sometimes has 4 or 5 in a row and loses his breath so I have to beat him on his back to get air..His Dr says it could be this but he doubts it. He wants to send him back to Gastro Dr.again..He has already done every test he could and I think we are wasting time on this..His oxygen level was good but they have him on Spireva for COPD..Husband says this is not helping..Could this be from damage to nerve??? HELP!!
