im posting this for my 32 yr old husband. he has been experiencing extreme chest pains for last 2 months. when they started he went to er (multiple times), they did blood work, xray, and ekg everything came out normal. they referred him to a cardiologist, which did a heart cath, and chest cat scan. also came back normal. the cardiologist referred him to a gastrologist which did the scope down the throat. everything was fine. the gastro dr. decided he wanted to try to put him on elival (up to 50 mg a night.) for muscle spasms of the esophugas. this has not helped. he is also taking 2 81mg of aspirin a day, and protonix. the gastro dr. has referred him to a pulmonary dr. this dr doesn't know why he would send him there. there is nothing he can do. about 2 weeks ago, he had a chest pain at work and ended up passing out. he has done this 5 times in last 3 days. went to er again, again they did all the same test and found nothing. we are at the end of our ropes and don't know where else to turn. we know something is causing this pain and now the passing out but don't know what are where else to turn. Can you Please give us some kind of a answer or advise. WE ARE DESPERATE. need some help

Hi, sounds like you have been through the ringer and the run of the mill already.
You have seen a Cardio and a GI doctor whom both have said he is fine, I know the Cardio did blood work, did the GI?
My mom has heart issues that is more related to lungs than heart so she see a pulmonary doctor as well, so you might have more luck with this doctor - at this point anything is worth a shot. Might have lung issues, inflammation that is causing chest pain, just a maybe.
Your husband is healthy other than that? Does he smoke, drink, or do drugs? Exercise, if so how often? Such a thing as exercise induced asthma - might it be that? Just trying to think of things for you and be helpful.
Really hope that for your sake and your hubbies they get to the bottom of it soon, I know how uncomfortable these things can be. But one thing I do know is - DO NOT GIVE UP keep going back to the doctor and let them know how you feel and if you have new symptoms - advocate for your health cuz if you don't the doctors sure won't.
Good luck! Cheers

we have been to pulmonary dr. he gave him a inhaler, and a round of antibiotics going off cat scan the cardiologist did. he is redoing the cat scan this coming Wednesday. so far the inhaler has not made any difference. other than this my husband is very healthy. does not drink, smoke or do drugs. he does not exercise. the cardiologist had did a stress test which he had to stop in the middle because it brought on a attack of the chest pains. Hes having 4 or 5 attacks a day. he gets them no matter what he is doing whether its physical work, or can just be sitting in his recliner watching tv, or laying in bed. now that hes passing out it really has me worried, I know he has to be stressed and tired of hurting, because im completely stressed over the situation.

Did the cardiologist talk to you about possible Angina, myocarditis, or mitral valve prolapse? Some of these to me have similarities to what you are describing although I am far from a doctor. Your hubby doesn't have any abdominal pain accompanied with his chest pain does he (I'm sure he doesn't but that is why he was sent to see a GI)?
I would recommend getting a blood pressure monitor and start checking his blood pressure and heartrate daily, three times a day. Keep a record of these for the doctor so he can see if there is any extreme changes. Record changes from levels of activities such as sports, work or even at home chores, sexual, to even putting gas in the vehicle. Keep a log of symptoms. It helps the doctors and your peace of mind.
I have gone through this. I have a Tachycardia syndrome that started after a major surgery but the doctor thinks I have had this for a long time but just became prevalent. Keeping this tab helps you and them, they and you can see if it is getting worse or better over a period of time. Keep track of food as sometimes food can be a culprit as well (I am a Celiac and you wouldn't believe what wheat can do to the body if it cannot be digested).
Keep me posted, if you have any questions don't hesitate or if you simply need to talk to someone or b8tch to someone I can listen
Good luck
