My husband had a total thyroidectomy and removal of all lymph nodes in his neck. He has medullary cancer. The surgery was Sept 1st. He also had to have a gel foam injected into his vocal chords, as one was not moving. The doctor told him this would help him breathe better. It has helped, but he feels like something is always stuck in there, and complains of being tight chested. He has had a chest x-ray, which was clear. He is having a very hard time breathing. Feels someone is sitting on his chest. Any ideas on how to help him breath better. Is this just due to the swelling in his neck. He has been told he has a very small windpipe, do not know if that matters or not. He does has asthma, and is using his inhaler every four hours.
