My husband had viral menegitis a while back. The hospital thought he had bacterial menegitis and nuked his system with a series of antibiotics. The problem is now he has memory issues. Is this after effect of menegitis or becuase of the multitude of antibiotics pumped into him? Also in the process he had a spinal tap leak, which was fixed a week after the inital spinal tap. Could the lack of spinal fluid cause the memory loss? His doctor has no clue as to the memory loss and I'm really stressed out about the whole ordeal. Any advice or ideas as why he has lost a good part of his memory would really be appreciated.

im not a doctor but 2 of my friend's parents have had viral menegitis...and they BOTH suffered memory loss. they BOTH were never the same after. and they are BOTH experiencing differences in their normal way of being. like one's handwriting is completely different now as well as his fine motor skills are a bit off. while the other is just a MUCH nastier person now and says she just cant keep it together like when shes out and really stressed, she just gets enraged where she never used to. both of their doctors say they have no clue as to why they are suffereing these effects. its a brain thing, the membranes are effected and it harms the cells or the walls. its a terrible illness, i hope your husband gets better.
Thats the only info i can help you with!
