Midcycle spotting for the first time while trying to get pregnant

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and according to the ovulation kit, I ovulated on the 17th or 18th of this month. Then yesterday, the 20th, I had some mucus that was tinged light brown and/or pink and I still have some this morning. I have never had anything like this happen midcycle, so I'm a bit freaked out with the talk of cervical cancer, etc. I've checked a number of boards and everyone seems to be talking about midcycle bleeding, but I don't see any blood or streaks of blood- just the tinge in my mucus. It seems too late for ovulation bleeding but too early for implantation bleeding. And is it actually bleeding if I don't see any blood? Any help? Is this normal? My mind is spinning, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
