missed period, and cramps

hello everyone, i am 5days late for my period! i am never late.
But recently my breast have been tender, swollen and sensitive. I'm also having cramps like you would expect to get when being on your period.
The cramps are very painful and last only couple of minutes. I have not done a hpts yet as they so not to be 100 true! as im sure you women all know! What do you think i should do, i don't know if its to soon to book an appointment at the docs yet.
