The warnings where removed after they found no correlation between the combo of clonidine and Ritalin and death. I'm sure reading that will cause anxiety! It's a very common combo. I say just don't go to high on the doses and stay away from rockstar drinks!

My son took this combo at 4 until puberty. He died last year at 28. The combo is similar to phen phen diet drugs. Causes heart damage. He had myo cardiac fibrosis and wasn't discovered until the autopsy. Don't take these two without a regular cardiologist in depth checkup. I didn't know. Now I suffer from that drug choice for my sweet son.

Hi everyone, this is important to know

I was reading through the leafelet of clonodine, and it says that 'serious side effects can occur when clonodine is mixed with methylphenidate (used in Ritalin). After I've used the two together for two months and a couple weeks, my body has becomevtired, my heart hurts (or my chest), and there are odd pains in my arms. I'm definitely not going to be taking the 2 together anymore, as daunting as that is.

I hope this helps anyone who is concerned

Actually I would have to disagree
Without the adhd medication- it is much harder to concentrate and take in much needed education. Without clonidine you probably wouldn’t sleep well and that also could have affected your learning. I am not big on medication. My daughter needed it as a kid but I refused it and just tried to raise her without. She has long term problems from not seeking the right medications for her. Now I am facing the same issue with all four of her kids. By the way - I have autism and adhd and nerve knew it as a kid and now I know why I struggled in areas. She too along with her kids have autism adhd and bipolar. There is no way her kids could function without the medications. It’s necessay as much as I hate what it does to them. Until there are better treatments we must face what we have too

Hi I have ADHD and Narcolepsy. The Ritlan treats both. Oh I take Ritlan and Clonidine together. I take Ritlan 20 ER once a day and the lowest mg of Clonidine 3 times a day. I have no problems. My blood pressure is stable. I just get sleepy at night. Probably because we that have ADHD things that make others hyper makes us calm...its weird. I can drink coffee or a Redd Bull and become calm as ever. I reccommend the Ritlan Clonidine mix as a last resort and under a doctors care. Blood pressure has to be monitored. Good luck.

No, I am a product of the 80's. Being thrown on amphetamines and then another drug so your heart doesn't blow up is CHILD ABUSE. It starts with LAZY teachers that don't care for the well-being of a child but only for they're piece of mind, next the schools threaten parents with you must do "this" or you child will be "this" and we will have to inform CPS because something must be happening at home.

By the time I was 13-14 and starting Jr. High and mainstreaming into regular classes again, I would be the kid nodding off in class. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING TO GIVE A CHILD!!! It reeks ravage on you heart.

Keeping your child on these types of medication have a very high risk for crystal-meth addiction in the future. Stop it while you can.

Marijuana works great for ADHD. When I was 15 years of age I finally had enough of the amphetamines and blood pressure medications. I threw them out the second story window of my sisters apartment in the rain.

I found marijuana a few months later, up to this point I was against all drugs. I went from a C-/D student to a b+/A student once I started to smoke. I was able to sit, and focus to one thing at a time.

Again this is just my personal experience, and many of the other kids I have known at that time. Be careful don't trust your government

As somebody here already told you, you must be deeply grateful to your parents for the gift they made to you.
I'm 54 and my life has been a disaster until a well-prepared psychiatrist diagnosed at 50 (never's too late) my ADHD.
I had a lot of decades to fight against a constant and horrible SUD (Substance Use Disorder) that involved Heroine/Methadone, Cocaine, Alcohol; as well as Affective Disorders, loss of jobs, opportunities and serenity for my family and all my significant ones.
This is what happens when you don't support a child suffering from ADHD (because of culture, prejudices etc..).
Anyway, at 54, I have my methylphenidate therapy (60 mg ER) and at night I take half a pill of clonidine/Catapres (75 mg) to relax and sleep better.
Hugs from Europe
