I have been taking birth control for quite a while (Alesse 28 day packs for about a year). I usually take it in the morning, but occasionally I take it a bit late (usually within a two-three hour window from when I'm supposed to take it) A few days ago (approximately five, it was Wednesday and today is Monday) I missed one, and a couple days after that I took it an hour late. My boyfriend and I fooled around without a condom a couple times over the weekend but never 'finished' without one. Except this morning we almost did, but he pulled out just before he came.

I am wondering if all this is enough to be concerned about and if I should take the Morning After Pill just in case?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Tastik,

Did you take the pill you missed that day?  So two the next day?

If you did, don't worry about it, and you don't need backup.  A few hours either way is OK.  Ideally you want to be as consistent as possible.

Daily birth control is MUCH more effective than the morning after pill.  The morning after pill is for emergencies and should only be used if necessary - unlikely in this case.

Hope it helps.
