Hello. I'm 56 year old female and I would like to find out some stuff about one diagnostic method.
These last couple of months I have suffered from really strong pain located in my back and I didn’t know what could be the cause.
I have even contacted my GP over this and after a month of therapy and useless stretching exercises, he couldn’t tell what’s wrong with my back. Finally he decided to send me to do some MRI tests and to be honest with you- I'm looking forward to it because supposedly this is the best diagnostic tool today. This may sound stupid but I'm interested can maybe menopause affect MRI results!? Can someone tell me more about this issue?

Hello. I have had this MRI or Magnetic resonance imaging done last year and I have asked my doctor to explain me all there is about it.
I have had a breast tumor and my doctor told me that maybe the better option for me would be MRI then mammography. I was also interested what can interfere with interpretations of this test.
And that’s why he told me that results from the MRI were not significantly affected by mammography breast density, tumor histology, or menopause status.
So, now you know the truth- fluctuating levels of female sex hormones have not been shown to affect relapses or MRI results.
