Mucus from the vagina is very normal. Sometimes it can be really runny and clear, sometimes cloudy and sticky and sometimes it can be a white thick glob... it just depends on the time in your menstrual cycle.
You only need worry if it is really offensive smelling (and I mean 'off' a lot of women feel that their vaginal smells are 'yucky' but that is not the case.. I am talking rotting type smells) and is greenish or such in colour.
If you were checked out for diseases then you are fine.
Always use condoms properly and your risk of infection is small...
