Hey I'm turning 15 soon and I am female, anyway lets get to the point, my parents say I'm a hypercondriac because I freak out about the smallest things till the point I'm paranoid. I have a habit of googling symptons too. Anyway a few months ago I never really noticed it before and don't know how long it's been this way but one rib sticks out further then the other so I started googling and found out about scoliosis. I started to panic and felt my back but it felt straight so I calmed down a bit. Today I was abouts to enter the shower and I checked my back from behind, It looked like it was curved. I started feeling scared and sick so after my shower I told my parent I was concearned about it and to check it. Both parents had a look and thought it was fairly straight, and didn't notice much wrong, my dad said a shoulder wing was sticking out a bit further then the other but that was it. I showed my parents a website on scoliosis and they said they would book me into doctors after christmas. They said I shouldn't worry but I'm terrified of what it could be, they don't seem to notice the slight curve but I can and it's driving me insane I have a strange pain in my back as I type this but I think that's just something from my head and not really there. Anyway what do you think this sounds like? Am I just being my usual paranoid self, or is there something wrong? And if there is something wrong is there anything I can do to help it?Just to say, my shoulders are level there's no sloping, and my posture isn't that bad like I don't hunch over or anything but when I was very young me and my sister were messing around and I fell backwards and landed with quite a force with my back into the edge of the sofa, could this play a part? Thanks so much for help :)

Hi there
Well, for starters self medication and self diagnosis is wrong to an extent where one always looks for symptoms which can bring more worries and stress. Best option is let trained doctors examine you and then you follow their recommendations - period!! Doctors spend years learning their subject and they will be right persons to help you. Repose your trust on them. Good luck
