I am a 22 year old female and for years and years I've had major back pain. I have scoliosis in my upper back, when I first found out about it it was only a 17 degree curve (I think that's how they worded it) so even though I have pain they said I don't need to do anything about it since its so minor, and they haven't looked at it since. I also have an extra lumbar vertebrae which has always causes me extreme pain. I tried physical therapy for it a couple years ago and that didn't work so my doctor just stuck me on muscle relaxers, which don't help, and said that's all they can do. My coccyx has also always hurt to put any pressure on, which I just learned isn't actually normal! So I've gotten to the point where I can't stand the pain any longer, I can barely stand long enough to do the dishes and I can't sleep because of it. I made an appointment with a back specialist and I really want to know, is there anything they can do? I'm really terrified of going, so any feed back on what they might do or what has worked for others would be greatly appreciated!!!
