My periods are pretty regular, i am now 8 days late, and my boobs are really sore, today i had a lite spotting in my line and when i wipe then it went away, i have had mild cramping off and on, and i took a test and it came back negative..could i still be pregnant??

It is a possibility. In some women the tests don't work as early as advertised, if at all. Give it another couple of days then retest. When you do test, use ONLY your first morning urine for the best accuracy.
If still no period in another week or so, see your doctor.
