Can you help me out here, I am slowly becoming desperate. My son has been diagnosed with poliomyelitis-what should we do? I mean, is there anything we can do to help him, beside the doctor’s orders? They said that this condition might be temporary but the symptoms are really frightening me!

Well, poliomyelitis is a dangerous condition, one that has many varieties and therefore many prognoses. There are many patients who have this condition for a short while; a month is needed for a paralyzed area to start functioning again and several months more for a complete recovery. So, let’s hope this is the case with your child too. And you can only give him your love and support - he needs that too!
