I am concerned with my health lately. I am 26 year old female - 5'5" weight currently 102. I figure I have lost 10 to 15 pounds in the last year since for the longest time I kept a steady weight of 115. Within the past 3 or 4 months my appetite has decreased slowly. Currently (for the past month) I have had trouble eating. I also have had a bit of acid reflux and this caused me chest pain. I have had some pain on my left side to middle of abdomen. I went to the doctor twice so far. They at first thought it was a thyroid condition; checked my blood and everything came back normal. I have taken pregnancy tests and that is not it. I had been put on protonix for my acid reflux and my chest pain is no longer present. My doctor thinks it is stress that is causing my trouble eating. Though I still have trouble swallowing food and I feel nauseated periodically.
I have thought that maybe stress could be a cause. I have many things going on in my life right now that could be contributing to my anxiety or stress levels. Could this be a factor? I am very concerned about my weight. I worry about it constantly. I feel as if I am too skinny and I really need to figure out a diet that will help me gain some pounds and keep from feeling so nauseated all the time.

I'm 21, a junior in college, and I am having a very similar problem. The thing is though, I've told no one about it. That's why I'm out here, on the internet, searching for some answers.
For the past three months I have been having difficulty even getting myself to eat. If I get past the first wave of nausea by thought, then half way through a meal I become irritatingly sick again. I usually have to stop. The funny thing is, I'm still hungry. I want to eat. Yet, I feel too sick to.
There is absolutely no chance that I could be pregnant (I'm not in a relationship). My weight for the past three or four years has been around 117. As of now, I am slowly reaching 109.
It's just very surprising and scary. I also wonder if it is stress related. Would this be related to an ulcer or something?

I'm having the same problems as you too. I'm a 38 y.o. male. I'm on protonix as well. Lately, I can't finish my food, and a couple of times I've thrown up what I've eaten. I've had several tests done, including upper GI, esophagram, endoscopy, and CT scan of gall bladder and they all came back negative.
If anyone out there has found any answers, please let me know!

Wow this has been happening to me as well! I 'm glad I'm not alone!
I can never eat anything until I smoke some weed and even then I can't eat like I used to.
I only weigh 91 pounds now :-( But my parents are sick of me smoking so much weed! "It's not what proper young ladies do"
anyways I need an alternative solution!
Is eveyone on here small as well?
I see like 5 who are, maybe size has something to do with it.
or anxiety?
pft I don't know..

Do you go from completely full to absolutely on the brink of starvation and get all weak?

I'm 28 yrs old and in college and am having the same symptoms. I have come to the general assessment that this is stress related. I have taken the time to relax (yoga and deep breathing) I am drinking camomile tea(which calms and soothes the stomach). Today I was able to keep down a bag of chex mex, some wheat thins and a fruit smoothie. I am avoiding milk, caffeine, cheeses, and anything with too much fat in it. And I am feeling much better.

For the past 2 weeks I've been going through the same thing as all of you. I'm not skin and bones like most of you...I'm 6'2 and normally weigh 230, but I've dropped 10 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I can't eat anything good...after a few bites I get extremely nauseated and have to stop eating. HOWEVER, unlike what I've read from the rest of you, I CAN eat junk food! Crazy! Chips, cereal, I can eat till my hearts content, but real food I can't stomach. I've also noticed that my urine is yellow although it normally isn't. I haven't been to the doctor yet...maybe that's my first step.

Hey guys,
I've been having the same thing happen to me, only I'm pretty sure I know it's due to stress. Is there any way you guys might be having the same problem? I'm a youth work/part time carer for high needs teenagers who have been through crisis. I try not to get involved emotionally but it looks and feels as though my body is still taking it on.
Routine is another thing that puts me out. So stress and lack of routine. Just thought I'd put it out there just in case. :)

It could be pancreatitis...have you noticed anything peculiar about your stool? Is it smelly, fatty ( a lighter color), watery, bloody. Also, when you throw up what does the food look like? Has it been digested, is it a liquid?

I am a 19 year old male college student and i have had a problem eating for the past year. I couldn't say i have lost more or less then 10 lbs off and on. In may of 2010 my mother passed away (she was a chef, and cooked all my meals nearly, so naturally with her gone I have a problem with food) and currently my father is battling cancer and brain tumors. I know this has to be linked to stress, insomnia, poor diet, no routine diet, and bad food. Living in the dorms i couldn't eat well and it seemed to be fueling this problem. I find nausea to be a problem most of the time, or after looking at my food or eating half or less of it i loose all of my appetite.

I lost 10 pounds my freshman year of college and I was finally able to gain it back within the past month. I have been looking into Celiac disease because of my combination of symptoms. Inability to eat and nausea are 2 of the symptoms that I got very strongly, however, and after a week of gluten-free eating, I'm having a much easier time eating and keeping it down.
