My husband and I have decided to try to have a baby. However, my husband had back surgery in november and is still on the gerneric form of Percocet. The FDA has the drug labled in catagory C, stating that it is not known if it effects pregnancy. My question is does the med effect a mans' sperm quality, mobility, genetics, count, ect.?

There is no information that states any effect of percocet on sperm production and quality. Percocet contains oxycodone that is opioid analgesic and may be habit forming. Drugs that are in fda’s category c are not known if can harm unborn baby, because may pass the placenta. It is not established that can have influence on reproductive system of both male and female. In some cases, percocet may cause decreased sex drive, and this its effect belong to a group of less serious, reversible effects. Like this, it can also cause constipation, dizziness, decreased appetite or muscle twitches. But percocet has no influence on hormonal status and sperm count and quality.
