Hi, I'm breastfeeding a 9 month old and my periods have not yet returned. Three and a half days after having sex I performed a mid-stream pregnanct test which straight away read negative. I'm still quite worried I'm pregnant again as I have been experiencing a clear-ish yellow-ish discharge, I have also been quite itchy at times. Could I still be pregnant and did I do the test too soon? What are the chances? Thanks

Hi in response to your question. I read some where (think it was the clear blue pregnancy test website) that you have to wait at least 19 days after intercourse to take a test. There is a chance you could be pregnant they usually say after 6 months of breastfeeding you can be fertile even with no periods and possibly earlier!
I hope this helps :-) Good luck!

Of course your test will be negative if taken 3 and a half days after intercourse, it can take sperm almost that long just to make their journey let alone fertilize an ovum, then another 10 days for it to travel to your uterus and begin implantation....so yes definetly TOO SOON to be testing....and if you are experiencing unusual discharge along with occasional itching i wouldnt be worried about pregnancy as much as a yeast infection or something of that sort, consult your doctor if it continues but this is not enough to assume you're pregnant
