Ok so I'm still in my teenage years, I'm circumsized, and am perfectly healthy as far as I know. However, like all teenagers, I have quite a sex drive, but I am still a virgin and have never done anything with anyone else so I know it's not an STD. But I fear I've done something through masturbation. About halfway up my shaft where the foreskin used to be I have a "crater-like" thing. I've had it for years and I've told my parents about it and they told me to keep an eye on it and to tell them if it changes at all. The problem is that it hasn't gone away nor has it changed in size or color or anything since I got it a couple years ago. It started one day when I found it and thought it was a sebaceous gland (which I have a lot of that are visible at base of my penis). I was stupid and tried popping it and it did pop. It split apart at one side and a clear liquid came out. This "crater" is about the size of a pimple or zit and doesn't have a weird color to it, just flesh-like. I cant tell how deep it goes but it is a little bit lower than the average paper-cut i would assume and it doesnt hurt at all. It resembled a blister on your hand that pops but at a smaller scale. I wouldn't be so afraid if it wasn't for the fact that it won't heal. Please help me. Anything would be appreciated. Lastly, it doesn't really look like cancer from what I've seen on the Internet but self-diagnoses can be misleading.

Hi, I think this sounds like you have popped a cyst. They are not that uncommon, and as you say you have them (what you call a sebatious gland) at the base of your penis, then I suspect that this was one too. As they are skin coloured, not inflamed and not growing, then a surgeon would not remove the others unless they started to cause you real problems. I am 99% sure you have not got cancer. I think this has not healed simply because of where is is. It gets rubbed by your clothes (or you lol) and never gets chance to heal. This is what I think you should do: whenever you are home from work get into a dressing gown or wrap around towel. Do not wear any underwear, so the air can get to the wound and also so nothing can irritate it. Have a shower every day and mastibate in the shower, so that you can use the shower gel to help you, rather than risk hurting it when dry. Do not use oil or lube for now, as this could make it worse - wait until it has healed. Try not to mastibate unless you really have to (give the guy chance to heal). You can also try bathing the area in salt water (one level teaspoon of salt to one pint of water). Do this as often as you can - it is the most powerful healer known to man. If you start running a high temperature or if the wound gets red and angry looking, or starts to ooz anything, then it has got infected. You will need to see a doctor asap for treatment.

Thank you so much for your help, and others for their assistance too. But I was just wondering, would a cyst go down below the surface of the very top layer of my skin? Because I do actually have a "hole" where the stupid thing used to be. Not super deep but deep enough to cause a little bit of an insecurity as to the well-being of region.
