I have been taking YAZ for three years now. at the beginning my periods were irregular, but eventually some consistency  followed and i usually got my period after the forth sugar pill. Until recently i have not received my period at all. After reading everybody's blog, i realised YAZ works different  i can feel that everything is normal except i have not got my period. I'm guessing YAZ might surprise me in a few days and ruin my holiday. Great pill,  sh*t consistency, small price to pay for contraception..

I'm on YAZ for the second time in my life now (it was the first BC I used, then I switched to the implant for three years before switching back) I started on it again about 8 months ago. For the past three months my period has been unusual. Usually I would get my period towards the end of the white pills, it would last 2-3 days and be rather light, but it was consistent. My last three periods haven't been as such. The first was very light (almost nothing at all), the next month I skipped on purpose, I missed an active tablet by 12 hours right at the end of the pack, so skipped the inactive pills and started a new pack right away. Because I have issues with the lubricants on condoms, my partner and I don't use them and forgo sex for a week when I miss a pill (7 days as per Yaz booklet's instructions) but we'd had sex a day or two before the missed pill. Anyway, I didn't get my period that month but I wasn't expecting to.

This month I was back on the white pills and still got no period. I'm a week into the pink tablets since then. I don't think I'm pregnant because my partner and I have been working through some issues recently and haven't been having sex, but I'm going to take a HPT in a few days just in case (Holding off until my mother leaves town and goes home again, because there's no way I can deal with that while she's sleeping in m guest room, no matter what the result!) I'm trying not to worry about my absent period, because they have been getting increasingly lighter since I started on YAZ again, but there's always that niggling feeling when Flo doesn't rock up, especially because I used to be so regular. I haven't really had any other 'pregnancy symptoms' that couldn't be explained by something else. Other than this past week of concern, everything else about YAZ has been great for me. No weird side effects bar the lighter periods.

Thanks so much. I take so much comfort in this comment. I'm on my first pack of yaz and my period has been 18 days and counting. My Dr told me to hang in there and I was still wondering if something was wrong with me. Thank you!

Can you use Yaz just to control your bleeding in a menstal control without it being used for birth control?. In addition can you start the pill after your period begins ?

I have been on Yaz (not Yazmin) for two and a half years now, and the results have been wonderful. It took about two to three months for my cycle to regulate but ever since my period has come on the same day every single month and only lasted two days with spotting on the third. I have ovarian cysts so I got put on it for that reason mainly. But I also had severe cramps and mood swings every month and I would have to skip school and campus just because I'd be lying in bed wrything in pain every month. Which Yaz has now taken away. Completely. So I'm unsure why some of you don't have the same result. Just go to your doctor or OB/GYN and tell them about it, but if they put you on it I'm sure they know what they're doing just hang on for a couple months. I had severe nausea during the first six-ish months. But I had that previously anyway, it just got a bit aggravated. Now I'm 100% fine. No heavy bleeding, no cramps, no messing myself. Just fine.

Not really, it's main function is birth control you can't turn it off. You should be starting the pill on the first day of your period.

I just saw my gynecologist because I'm still on my period for 2 weeks now and she ordered a sonogram to be sure I don't have any fibroids. Thankfully I don't. She gave me another estrogen pill to take next month when I have another abnormal bleeding. I start the white pills tomorrow and I'm hoping my period ends.

I have been on Yaz for three years. In that time I have only had a handful of periods. In fact, in 2016 I only had 2 in total, three months apart and both under extremely stressful situations. My doctor says my hormone levels are fine and he is not concerned. I've decided to enjoy it, not having to deal with the heavy periods I was having before is a blessing to be sure. Best of luck everyone!
