I had a Novasure ablation around 2 years ago. Since then I've gained almost 40 lbs. I'm totally discussed nothing that worked for me in the past has helped with loosing it. I also feel terrible bloated all the time. The sad thing is I reaally wasn't having much problems with my periods just some spotting in between.

Same with me just some spotting in between. It has been six months since the procedure and I feel four months preganant and gaining weight. I am 43 had my last of four kids 12 years ago and have never had a problem looking somewhat slender at 5'9 until now. I thought perhaps it was the over 40 starting to creep up on me but I now realize after reading all these posts that it has to do with the procedure. I even asked my husband if he would let me get lipo (was kidding) because of how big my belly looks. Very dis heartening. I am making my check up appt. tomorrow and asking my dr. about this.

I was looking too see if anyone was expierencing pre=menapause symptoms, for a month after my procedure, I have felt like I am going crazy. Crying, anger, can't sleep, tired, no sweats, just feeling out of control mentally. I also was wondering if the procedure set my body into pre menapuse. Its a question I wished I had asked before getting the procedure. I feel for u, but too let u know u r not alone.

Jinx the weight gain is probably common but you have to change your diet. I gain over 45 pounds and my highest weight gain was 265 lbs and I now weigh 220 lbs. You are going to have to use sea salt and very little only enough for taste and use virgin olive oil to cook and no fried foods at all. The catch is to always drink 60 ozs of water a day and if that gets boring you can add crystal light packs to your water. When you go out you want to eat broiled or baked foods with vegatables and always, always, always have some salads. It is hard to take off the weight but it is worth it. I do splurge from time to time but I know my limits. I run a mile a day 3 to 4 times a weeks and do Zumba at night 5 times a week and on occassion when I do not feel like it I don't do it. This is what has helped me lose mose of my weight....Oh I almost forgot I also went through cold and hot flashes one minute I would be fine and the next minute I would break out into a dripping sweat I am thankful that it is almost over because I am not having it as much because I can stay under the covers and not have to pull the covers off of me inthe middle of the night or have to change the sheets the next morning. Hope this helps ladies. Good Luck!

I am 36, and just had the Nova Sure procedure plus a D&C done on January 28th, the first day was by far the worse, I was really sick to my stomach and cramped for about 8 hours straight. I am doing better now, spotting everyday, but nothing major. But... I have gained weight in just 4 days time, I am up almost 4 pounds, I wonder if this is just from the swelling and possible water weight!? Anyone else experiencing this?

I am a 29 year old mother of three. I always had "normal" light periods until I had my tubes tied three years ago and now they are horrible. I bleed more often in the month than not. All of my tests have come back "normal" and was going to have the novasure done in a few months but now I am too scared to do this. I have done a lot to get the baby weight off and have a major family history of diabetes. I don't feel that it would be safe to my health to gain 20 or so lbs. I am so glad that I read this before I had the procedure done. Thank you all for posting how what this has done to you. I don't think this is a smart healthy choice for me.

I had the procedure 02/07/13. We are all different but before the procedure, I was reading a lot on the internet about it and got scared and wanted to have it done under anesthesia but I would have had to wait even longer, so I went ahead with the procedure in my doctors office. Yes, it hurt a bit but it was over fast. I am so glad I didn't have it done in the hospital because it would have cost a lot and in my opinion, wasn't necessary. I wanted to post this because I had been afraid of not having it done under anesthesia because so many posts I had read. The decision is yours but wanted to share. I kept waiting for cramping or nasty smelling discharge. I worried about not being able to use a tampon just after the procedure, but the discharge amount wasn't as bad as I thought. Bottom line for me, I am glad I had the procedure even though I do not know yet if my periods are gone forever or even will be lightened.

I had my procedure 2/12 and really noticing the weight gain. This post helped! I was reading all the weight gain post and I'm really concerned. I had the heavy bleeding , two blood transfusions and a D &C. So when the doctor told me about Novasure, i really didn't care about the side effects. I just wanted the bleeding to stop so i can have my life back. As those of you that suffered know, I too had to check myself and chair every time i sat on a seat and carried (overnight) pads in my purse to change, had several accidents and work and in public, depressed, refused to do any activities that involve going out and NEVER wore WHITE! I can't say I'm at the point of wishing I never had the procedure because it did save my life. It's 16 months later and NO PERIODS! I only use liners by choice! I will do the diet and exercise and see if that helps! HOPE IT works out for everyone!%-)

Ugh I want to scream. I went into this educated and heard you may gain some weight. I thought okay 5-10 lbs won't kill me. I had just lost over 50lbs and looked great. I am a competitive horse rider and have to wear white pants when I show. I had issues with flooding and ruined more than 3 pairs of 200 dollar pants. Even at my heaviest my stomach was almost flat due to my strong core muscles. Before I wore a size 10 comfortably. Talked to my doc and she assured me the people who gained weight weren't active. I ride four to five horses a day and run so I thought I'm good. She agreed. I informed her major weight gain was NOT an option. Had novasure done 5/29/13 it is now august my activity level is more than it was due to summer and my show pants no longer fit my belly is huge looks like a dang tire and I'm fat and cannot lose it ! My docs comment... I guess you were just unlucky. I weigh more than I ever did ! Its august barely two months later and I am in an 18 !please tell me this is going to end and I can loss the weight. I'm about to go on a yogurt only diet because I feel and look disgusting. Yes not having a period is nice and no cramps is great but at the cost of my competitive career so not worth it. I didn't do this to waddle around !

March 2014 will be a year since I had the procedure. My periods are down to a panty liner and last 2-4 days lightly. It feels funny trying to decide what type of pad to wear. What isn't funny is the weight that I have gained and my stomach/gut area looks hideous. At first I thought that me and my boyfriend we going out to eat to much, so we slowed to a crawl with that. The weight just keeps packing on, I had no idea that this procedure had anything to do with weight gain. I didn't see anything on it and my friend who got it before me didn't mention anything about weight. I thought maybe I'm going through perio-menopause stage. Even in my water weight my pants hung loose, not my stomach is hanging over and my pants are tight, wth.

Started working out and that doesn't seem to help. I Pray that my weight does go up any more. Feeling fat, bloated and Miserable. The extra cramping I can cope with but this weight gain is for the freaking Birds! :(
