I just found out that my cousin suffers from NSCLC and that he is in stage IV. I was angry because no one told me so far. I guess that it lasts for some time. There were three stagers before. Anyway, I don’t know much about NSCLC. They only told me that he is on chemo. What re life expectations in stage IV?

Stage IV means that the cancer has spread to distant sites and chemo is common treatment. However, platinum drug combined with Taxol, Taxotere, Gemzar or Navelbine appear to be more effective than simple palliative care. I am sorry but there is no much to expect in this stage of NSCLC survival rate is 5 year in less that 5%.
