I had the exact same problem, a huge lump (about the size of a marble) slightly to the left of my clitoris. I was in so much pain and could barely close my legs without feeling like I was going to cry. I got online and tried to find information about it. I had read what many people had advised, a warm compress, and figured it couldn't hurt to try. I applied I warm, damp washcloth and left it until it got cold, twice today (a few hours apart). I was laying in bed getting ready to go to sleep and I felt it to see if the size had changed at all, I pulled back a wet finger with brown slimey stuff on it. I got up and checked it out. It finally ruptured! It is disgusting when it finally does, it stinks, it's a light brown color, and there is so much stuff that comes out, but it feels so much better! I hope it stays gone now! Good luck to everyone that is having this problem! I defiantly recommend the warm compress and thank you to everyone that recommended it when I was desperately searching for an answer!

hey, I'm 16. and I have only sexually been with my current boyfriend. no one else. and we haven't been sexually active for like three months. he's only been with me and I've only been with him. I noticed when I wiped after peeing last night that the area right around my clit was tender. but I didn't see anything. the next morning (today) I peed, wiped and felt a bump. I looked in the mirror up close, and right at the start of my clit, almost on the fold of the skin, there was a pimple like bump. that looked to have white in it ( just like a pimple with puss) and it is tender and sore. and I don't want to pop it, because I'm afraid it will hurt, but I also don't want to tell my mom, even though she knows I've had sexually activity with my boyfriend. it's just an awkward topic to bring up. what should I do?

Those are two completely different strands of herpes…you cannot get genital herpes from someone with cold sores. You should look into you information before providing advice to others that will act to scare them.

It sounds as if you need to read up on your facts before postinh them here. You can infact contract HSV-1 (COLD SORES) genitally. The virus itself does not thrive in the genital area like it does on or in the mouth, but it is infact possible to contract that strand in the genitals.

I get these from time to time as well and used to freak out before I realized it always coincided with menstruation and pad use (aka extra moisture in that area). I always just apply some neosporin and gently squeeze the pus out and it usually goes away by the next day. Loose clothing and dry skin are definitely the way to prevent this.

I believe it's caused by non cotton underwear and tight clothes. I started wearing skinny jeans and ever since then I've started having this issue. I pop it as soon as I feel it and I clean it with baby wipes. It usually goes away in a few days

You guys are awesome. Thank you so much. I love the internet...it gives you options, provides information, and exposes you to things you didnt even know you didnt know!

I am 45 years old, have an occasional sex life with a single partner, and have just got what I now believe may be a Bartholyn Gland cyst for the first time.

I will go and get it checked out - but very relieved to learn that there is not just one conclusion to be drawn here!

Don't be afraid to take care of your body. Your parents don't have to know you're sexually active. You can keep this conversation with your doctor. This or any symptoms you get in the future, you should have it checked if you are not sure what it is. Don't stress or assume the worst. :)
