my tonsil on the right side of throat is in agony, its red and looks only slightly inflammed however only causes discomfort when swallowing. it does look sore, you could even say it looks like its cut up a little.
any ideas?

Do you experience any other signs except difficulty while you are swallowing?
If there are no other signs such as pain or slightly fever or aches of any kind maybe you are dealing with just a little cold and you have sensitive tonsils so you are feeling the most of the symptoms in your throat. But just to be sure that everything is fine if you suspect that a part of your tonsil is missing (I believe that this is highly unlikely) consult your doctor about this matter. If he diagnose that you are really having tonsils issue he will direct you to the ENT doctor but hopefully this is not going to happen. Keep us posted.
