Im about 3 and a half weeks removed from surgery, they went in through my abdominal region and tied off and cut the veins that were causing the backed up blood flow, it took a while for the swelling to go down and there was some pain in my left testicle for about 2 solid weeks afterward but its finally going away, I think im making a pretty good recovery and I should be able to get back to my martial arts training next thursday so im really looking forward to that! I hope you guys are also recovering well those of you who have had operations and I just wanted to let you guys know Im thinkin about the rest of the guys that have to go through with this, still prayin for ya'll...just remember its not gonna kill us while it may be very annoying and embarrassing to have to put up with its nothing we cant make it through! If you guys need advice or support or just to vent Im here to listen

Hey JC!

So sorry it has taken me so long to respond to you...I haven't looked at this message board in a few months. Well, I am doing great. I did follow up with the doctor and on that first checkup after the surgery I was a bit swollen still. All of the swelling went away in a few weeks after that. I still occasionally have pain in the abdomen area (this only happens when I am extra active physically) and also, my left testicle is still slightly (and I mean slightly, depending on the specific angle it is touched) sore. All in all, I am happy I had the surgery and overall the level of pain I once experienced due to vericose veins is significantly down. Thanks for responding JC. God bless and may you feel well!

Hello,

I had my surgery last year to remove some of the varicocele but now i'm already thin and i can't work because of the pain in my abdomen, in my chest and on my spine. Please help me on how i'm going to overcome this pain. The doctors here in the philippines says that everything is normal but I'm not.

Had the procedure done on June 8th. No problems with my testicles at all. The issue is the incision site. It remains swollen(though it has gone down) and sometimes it begins to throb and cause severe discomfort. It's actually doing it right now. I've had my follow up appointment and was advised this will go away on it's own. Anyone experience this?

I also had my varicocele surgey repair last June 11, 2011 so it means it is almost 1 month now after the surgery but the swelling on the abdomenal part where the incisions are (because I had operation both) still there and my doctor said that it will disappear until 6 months. After 3 days of my operation, I visited him because I was worried of the swelling part (i felt the anesthesia not gone yet), so the urologist checked the incision part and he said that is normal and he also did not clarified to me about when I can have sex, but I had read some forums that after surgery you can have sex after 3 weeks of operation, so in short I have done it. but I only knew from my doctor when I tried to called him again that I can only have sex after 3 months, so it is already late. What do you think, is there any problem about having sex after 3 weeks? Did your doctor told you that you can sex only after 3 months of operation?

Please let me know.

hi, are you people still there? I just had a  varicocelectomy five days ago. I guess the surgery just went fine. What puzzled me is that my right testicles seems swelling but I can not feel a chronic pain, it is just bigger now? Is this a sign of hydrocele perhaps? I hope this is normal. I may just be paranoid. Thanks. I am from the Philippines. Thanks

Ok.  Now, I have I problem. Exactly a month after my surgery, I played badminton because I thought I'm already ok. After that, my body ached for about one week. Probably, because I haven't done any physical activity, I mean strenous, for about one month. I thought, everything was pretty normal. That was two weeks ago and now, I feel that the dull ache I was feeling before I had surgery is coming back.

Is this a symptom of recurrence of my varicocele? I really hate myself for that.
