I have a similar problem. I've been dealing with this for a year now. My symptoms are so weird. I have to wait to pee until I have a bladder so full it feels like it's going to burst . If I go sooner than that it hurts. Always at the end of peeing. Feels like an uncomfortable, pulling squeezing feeling at the end of peeing
Sometimes it gets so bad I want to scream . But its not the horrible pain. I've tried cranberry and d-mannose. Neither worked. I cannot drink plain straight water. At all. Even a sip will make it horrible to pee. But I can drink everything else fine. I drink pepsi all day, it's fine, doesn't make it worse or better. Drinking a lot of pineapple juice actually seems to make it better. But drinking water is horrible for me. Which is bad because I'm trying to lose weight. I don't understand why water would make it hurt worse? I've noticed it feels worse right before my period and sometimes before ovulation. And after sex.

This might not help at all, but Monistat makes the "Cool wipes" that seem to be the ONLY thing that helps the constant burning sensation my UTIs give me (I'm on here at midnight while googling symptoms and came across this). I was just on antibiotics so I'm a little paranoid. I really hope that y'all find answers and that y'all feel better :)

I'm shocked to see how many women are all suffering from this same thing! I, too, started 6 months ago with a UTI that was discovered during a routine physical. I was prescribed an antibiotic that didn't seem to work so they switched me to another antibiotic.

The next month I got another UTI, and went on the second antibiotic they had prescribed the previous month. I just really never felt back to normal. Always felt like I had mild pain in my urethra and bladder.

The next month I got another one. My Dr. prescribed Cipro which I had a bad reaction to.

Last month, the day before I left for NYC, I got another really bad UTI and they called me in something. It didn't fully seem to help. When I got back and went to the doc and had another urinalysis and it showed a low level of bacteria.

He ordered a CT scan and made me an appointment with a urologist. The CT scan appeared normal. The urologist says I have Interstitial Cystitis and put me on amitriptyline. I've bene on it for about a week now and I'm not sure if I'm seeing any relief yet.

The thought of feeling like this forever is very discouraging. It's effected my life in almost every way. :-/

I hope they did an ultrasound or ct scan for this. I went to the ER with my stomach hurting. They found two kidney stones blocking my ureter. My kidney was swollen and they said I had a bacteria and blood in my urine. I had to have an emergency surgery to drain my kidney because I was going into kidney failure.

Hi I am going through the same problems as you were. I have constant discomfort at all times except when I pee or I notice when I sit on the toilet the pain goes away, I know it has been over a year for you but I am wondering if your pain has been relieved I am getting depressed over this. My pee tests always come back negative.

If you are menopausal your symptoms may be caused by lack of estrogen. I had the exact same symptoms. The remedy was vagifem and the fix was almost instant after weeks of misery.

I'm not sure if anyone will read this, but it sounds like most of you have interstitial cystitis. It often mimics a UTI. I have it myself. Antibiotics does not cure it. I suggest you see a urologist or a gynaecologist that specializes in urology. If you google the illness you will see that it might sound like what you have. I hope you get better soon. I know that what you're going through is very difficult and I'm sending positive vibes your way.

My doctor told me low estrogen is a problem. Vagifem seems to help.

Many people posting here may need to have their ureathra dilated. I have had this problem since my 20s (I am mid 50s now), and every so often I need to have it done. The symptoms disappear after dilation. This is an older treatment though and many modern docs do not think of it... it's not a "male" problem so you know...

Have your urethra dilated. Many women have this problem. The urethra gets bruised sometimes and slowly narrows... has been a problem for me for 30 years. Dilation works and sustains for a long time but periodically has to be done again.

No UTI but still extreme pain and burning

So my problem has been going on for about 9 months now of a UTI. It has recurred about 4 times and I have been prescribed with 4 different antibiotics. The last time I went to the doctor the urine culture came out negative. I definitely don't have a UTI but I don't know why I still have now even worse pain and discomfort while using the restroom. Any ideas what's going on? ( I am Female ) -Thanks!

Thought I had uti but was negative in dr. Office and culture was sent out. Constantly urinating and pressure in lower abdomen. Always feel I have to go after drinking. Could uti be negative and culture come back positive with a bacterial infection? Thanks
