You should see an urologist and have this checked. I had similar problems when I was diagnosed with kidney stones.

The pain was severe striking at the lower back, radiating to my groins and testicles. I went to an ER when I was found to have kidney stones and then referred to an urologist.

Kidney stones form from mineral salts and other substances. When they are small, they pass through easily without noticing but if they grow to be big, they may block some ducts and cause pain or hurt when on their way out from the body: from kidneys to the urethra.

People at risk for kidney stones are those who have a family history of kidney stones, people between age 20-40, those who have one kidney, men, those taking specific medications like diuretics or thyroid drugs, eating foods high in protein, not drinking enough water and those who don’t move enough!

The exam doesn’t hurt. Your doctor may order a blood test, urinalyses, ultrasound or x-rays.
